Hertingfordbury Parish News: April 2002

Macmillan Cancer Relief Fund

A LETTER FROM MICHELLE RICHARDS, EVENTS MANAGER, MACMILLAN CANCER RELIEF Dear Supporter, Thank you so much for taking part in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning 2001 and for raising £252.07 to help people living with cancer in Hertfordshire. Please do accept my sincere apologies for the belated acknowledgement and pass on my thanks to all those who helped you raise this fantastic amount. We greatly value your support. The event was a great success with 1.5 million people across the UK taking part, drinking enough coffee to fill two large swimming pools (600,000 litres) and eating over 300,000 kg of biscuits to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Relief. Money is still trickling in and 1 am delighted to confirm that we have now exceeded our target by raising £3.2 million. Money raised will go towards local Macmillan Cancer Relief services such as Macmillan nurses and doctors, buildings for cancer care, information support and grants for patients in financial difficulties. All these services make life easier for people living with cancer and their families. I hope you had lots of fun holding your Coffee Morning and will want to be involved in supporting Macmillan Cancer Relief again in the future.
