Historic Churches Trust Cycle Ride
The Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Historic Churches Trust Cycle Ride takes place on Saturday 13 September and it presents another way of raising money for the Church.
It is a sponsored event with the cyclist finding the sponsors. The cyclists then start at their own church and cycle to as many churches as they can or want to between 10.00am and 6.00pm. At each church the cyclist signs in and registers the time of arrival, although this is not a race. Some of the churches are open and offer refreshments. In the last 3 years we, as a Parish, have had very few cyclists and so we have earned very little, but if we were to have a fleet of cyclists (cycling as a group or solo) we would receive 50% of the money raised with 50% going to the Trust. Anyone interested, and wanting information about which churches are open, etc., should phone Jane Hoare.
This is open to walkers and well and there are no age restrictions although youngsters should obviously be accompanied by adults. It would be really great if we could have at least six keen and fit participants this year!
