Hertingfordbury Parish News: July 2003

Neighbourhood Watch

The Parish Council is keen to regenerate interest in a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme throughout the Parish. To work efficiently, the Scheme requires volunteers from the Villages in the Parish to assist a Co-ordinator in the passing of information to other Parishioners relating to local crime. A number of volunteers have already expressed interest to the Parish Council in assisting, but a few more are required to ensure full coverage of the Scheme within the Greens.

It is intended that volunteers will have a brief introductory meeting, of about half an hour, with the Hertfordshire Community Safety Co-ordinator for Neighbourhood Watch Schemes, Jill Dockley, who recently addressed the Parish Council in an effort to encourage the setting up of a revived Neighbourhood Watch Scheme. Please, if you are interested in assisting as a volunteer to pass on details to others in the Parish from information received from the Co-ordinator, contact the Clerk to the Parish Council giving your name, address and telephone number. We will then arrange to meet with you and hopefully resurrect the Neighbourhood Watch Scheme.

Remember, a good Neighbourhood Watch Scheme helps keep crime down in the locality, and also reduces insurance premiums.

Mrs. L. Faircloth,
Clerk to the Parish Council
