Hertingfordbury Parish News: November 2003

Hertingfordbury Women's Institute

In August the W.I. does not hold a formal meeting, but enjoys a mystery outing; thus we found ourselves crossing the 'borders' into Essex and Suffolk to visit Coggleshall, Havenham and Flatford Mill. In September we visited Clarence House. Our September speaker was Sandra Barker, basket maker. She delighted us with slides and a demonstration of her work. The evening concluded with a talk by Secretary Mary Bridges of her visit to Wenham College.

Next meeting: 25 November: Annual Meeting.

Competition: Motto for the 2004 Programme.
Sales Table.
December speaker: Knave of Herts. and Male Barbershop Group.
Competition: Christmas Table Arrangement.
Christmas Raffle.
January speaker: Brenda Harold; Wild Flowers on a country walk.

Hertingfordbury W.I. are very proud that Mrs Doreen Vigus has celebrated 60 years as a member of the W.I. At our October meeting the occasion was toasted to our special member.
