Hertingfordbury W.I.

In October - it was a members' evening, a rest for the committee and a surprise for all. Jan Porter, with three helpers, arranged the evening. The speaker, Tony Rook, gave an interesting talk with splendid slides. His subject - the River Mimram, from its source in Whitwell, through watercress beds and various villages to our own Hertingfordbury, with comparison of places then and now. November 10th - several members attended the Service of Remembrance at Birch Green, President Sylvia Norman placing a wreath on our behalf. November 26th - brings our Annual Meeting. A change of some committee members - those having served their three years in office. December 17th - entertainment by Aston Handbell Ringers. The competition : a decorated bell. The newly formed committee provides our refreshment. Members bring gifts for Christmas Alone. January 2003 - we bake cakes for the Isabel Hospice Day Centre. January 21st - our next meeting.
