Hertingfordbury Village Fete

In the morning, THE BARRATT FAMILY organised the Football Tournament which went so well and was thoroughly enjoyed by all those who took part. Every participant received a medallion and the winners were presented with their trophies at the end of the Fete. Very grateful thanks to Penny Barratt for all her organisation of this event.

(Did anyone find Freddie's new brown size 1 sandals at the end of the Fete??)

Wonderful weather was the crowning glory for an excellent Fete which raised £3,397.00, a marvellous tribute to all the stall holders and side show personnel who worked so hard to make the event such a success! THE BAND played better than ever, children from ST. JOSEPH'S IN THE PARK country danced for us, and this was followed by some intricate Maypole dancing by children from HERTINGFORDBURY SCHOOL, both schools giving a great deal of pleasure to the onlookers.

Candy Floss was consumed by smiling faces, zeal was displayed at the china and coconut shy. There was queuing at the bottle tombola, and a quad bike took youngsters round the field in a trailer, and much much more besides.

Special thanks to MARC and JASON for setting the Fete up and all that they did, and also to DAVID for all his help. Thanks too to ALISTAIR for being our MC for the afternoon. Thank you to SYLVIA NORMAN for opening the Fete for us. Thank you too to everyone who came to share the event with us we really value your support.

Matchbox Miniatures the Fete Competition - produced some marvellous work we will publish the names of the winners in the September magazine, and very much hope that many of the matchboxes will be displayed at the Patronal Festival.
