Clergy Letter

Dear Friends, Christ is Risen, He is Risen indeed Alleluia. once again, Easter is here; the new Paschal Candle has been lit and its flame flickers strongly; in the coming year the candies of Baptism candidates will be lit from it. A new Paschal Candle is lit each Easter Day to remind us that Christ Rose again for each of us, the Baptism Candle is lit to symbolise the light of Christ coming into the life of the newly Baptised. Remembrance and Symbolism, where then is the reality; where is the action that we promised ourselves during Lent when we were asked not to give something up but to accept a challenge. NOW that Lent is over does that mean our challenge is too? Of course not. The ministry of or Lord Jesus Christ did not end with the Crucifixion, it continued and grew because of the challenge accepted and worked at by those who believed that His teaching was to create a better world. He died 2000 years ago for each one of us; he died that we might know forgiveness and a new way forward. Did we learn anything from the challenge of Lent? where will our footsteps, the physical and the Spiritual, lead us? will we have the courage to allow ourselves to be led to pastures new, to try something different, to listen as well as to hear. There are many forms of ministry, something for all of us if we have the courage to put our whole trust in Him, the One who never gives us a burden too heavy to carry, the One who gives us strong shoes to walk stony paths, the One who travels with us every step of the way, the One whose light is there for us to follow in Faith and Trust one step at a time. Are you listening, are your HEARING? The Easter message is loud and clear: Christ is Risen, He IS Risen indeed, Alleluia. With love and every blessing, Rev'd Rosemary
