Welcome to the
Hertingfordbury Parish News
Hertingfordbury is a small parish outside of Hertford in
Hertfordshire, England. It comprises a number of small
villages:
- Hertingfordbury
- Birch Green
- Letty Green
- Cole Green
- East End Green
- Staines Green
The history of the parish can be traced back to the Domesday
Book which mentions Herefordingberie (sic) 1086,
Hertfordingeberi 1220. 'Stronghold of the people
of Hertford'. Old English -inga-a- burh (dative
byrig).
